Flooding is a coast to coast threat to the United States and its territories nearly every day of the year.  The information on this page is designed to give you the necessary information to better understand the dangers and help teach you how to stay safe in a flood event.  If you know what to do before, during, and after a flood you can increase your chances of survival.   

 

The Hancock County Emergency Management Agency, through the help of the National Weather Service, monitors all weather systems that can affect our area.  Through special alerts which are distributed from the County's Emergency Notification System and information shared on social media, the Hancock County EMA makes sure that everyone in Hancock County is kept safe and weather wise.  

 

Everyone is encouraged to register for alerts from our Emergency Notification System.  This service is FREE to anyone and can help save lives.  By getting the information from this service as well as using the ability of your existing smart phone as described in the video on this page, you can be better prepared when dangers are approaching.
